Criteriology or Criticism as epistemology is sometimes called is the study of our certain knowledge and of the grounds upon which its certitude rests. The criterion, from the Greek, to judge or distinguish, of truth is the test by which we distinguish between truth and error. It is therefore a theory of certitude.
